CPN - Sameji 107-96 Bottom-ranked Sameji is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to third ranked CPN (2-2) 107-96. CPN had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas, agency: BMS Sport Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94, agency: BMS Sport Agency) chipped in 29 points. Four CPN players scored in double figures. Brahian Mendez responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard John Crosby (190-96, college: Delaware St.) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CPN maintains third place with 2-2 record behind leader Cupes, which they share with GUG. Sameji at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. GUG forced 19 Plaza turnovers. Strangely Plaza outrebounded GUG 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Plaza's players. Forward Juan Guerrero (205-93, agency: BMS Sport Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) contributed with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) answered with 26 points and American forward Cornelius Hudson (200-93, college: Wake Forest) added 20 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Plaza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with CPN. Plaza at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost.
